You'll have to register for their Presets Community, but then you can download the software and twiddle a really large number of sliders and knobs to modify your sound settings and then, if you like, upload your custom settings to the community. There are eight different settings for sound (with another eight for chat) that are in the unit when it's shipped, but these can be replaced using some freely downloadable software available on Turtle Beach's website. Those are simply tools to select customizable setting configurations that have been saved to the sound controller.

Head-mounted controls can work decently for headsets with just a few controls, but the Ear Force Sierra: Call of Duty: Black Ops II Limited Edition features a variety of presets and ways to tweak your sound I wouldn't want to try to navigate all of these different settings with controls mounted on the headset, itself.Īctually, the tweaking that's possible goes way beyond the eight presets on the controller. The included controller puts the controls out in front of you, rather than having you fumble with dials, sliders and buttons on the side of your head, out of sight. The Sierra is specifically targeting competition and tournaments, however, so wireless isn't an option, as some tournament rules prohibit wireless sound. The Sierra is one of the highest-end headsets in the Black Ops II Limited Edition series, second only to the wireless Tango. I had some issues with the built-in sound card for the PC, but more on that later. In general, the sound quality of the Ear Force Sierra: Call of Duty: Black Ops II Limited Edition headset is pretty good. Headphones should pretty much always be about sound quality.
